It’s been almost two years since great actor and comedian Robin Williams has left us.
Robin was born in Chicago on July 21st, 1954. at 1:34PM
He was born in the sign of Libra, whose ruler Venus is located in the 11th house conjunct Ketu. This very close conjunction of Venus and the South node, Ketu, within one degree has had major effects in his life.
There are few important factors we have to consider in the case of depression and suicide. The most valuable informations we can find in house of emotions and planets that control emotions.
The fourth house in any horoscope represents an inner happiness, emotions, our most personal things, mother and quality of relation with her … The Moon is karakatva ie. the planet that has natural essence of fourth house.
Moon, therefore, represents: a mother, emotions, intellect, intuition, good luck…
The fifth house, on a psychological level, shows our intelligence, contents of our mind, shows our mental tendencies and creative abilities – for all this reasons it is necessary to include 5th house in analysis of depression.
The fourth house in Kal Purush (natural zodiac starting with aries) is ruled by Moon consequently that house is tender, soft and compassionate. If 4th house is ruled or aspected by malefic planets it is damaged, specially if malefic planets sits in that house.
In what extent the house is damaged depends on many factors.
The Moon in Robin’s chart is situated in the 5th house which is good house for Moon. Most of the devotees or sentimental people has Moon in that house. These are open hearted people. Fifth house, which represents intelligence and common sense is completley influenced by Moon’s karakatvas (significators). According to this combination he was constantly overwhelmed by emotions.
That wouldn’t be such a problem if Rahu – North node (the demon), isn’t in very tight conjunction with Moon. Rahu sits in his own sign (aquarius) and is very strong and dominant hence the Rahu’s influence on Robin’s mind is tremendous.
Rahu used to create fears, uncontrolled reactions, shocks, distress, instability, addictions and all sorts of mental struggles. On the other hand, because of Rahu’s position in its own sign and nakshatra (Satabisha – also ruled by Rahu), Rahu gave him the most brilliant ideas for film and comedy. As I mentioned in Leonardo DiCaprio’s post – 5th house is the most prominent house for acting (together with second and third house).
Each malefic will give us the effects promised by his accomodation – the only question is in what way he will deliver his effects. Whether it will be delightful or shocking events…
Rahu can bring very good results, but only after expressing his bad significations. Rahu is planet that gave him creativity and innovation, but also gave him moody psyche.
Rahu and Saturn have had huge impact on Robin’s mind – Saturn as ruler of the Moon is in the eighth house from 5th, which represent the transformation, weakness, the dark side of the mind.
Rahu brought him shocks, instability and Saturn brought him grief, alcoholism and depression.
Considering Saturn sits in the 12th house from Lagna, his sadness and depression is hidden hence this house represents all that is hidden. Maybe even he himself didn’t know what he carries inside, because the 12th house represents something we’re not aware of.
Venus and Ketu are in close conjunction in the 11th house. Venus is ruler of his Lagna (1st house), it represents applied intelligence. Venus is in Papa kartari yoga – hemmed between malefic planets from the both sides (12th and 10th house). But cherry on the top is Ketu which sits right upon Venus. They are only one degree apart.
This shows us that his intelligence is seriously damaged by malefic planets – result was that he felt trapped and it was very hard to seek for help because malefics affecting his appliance of intelligence – Venus.
Eleventh house is a house of expansion, growth, this is the house where we have free will. Venus is good in this house because Robin could work and develop his creativity and art. However because of Ketu, the mentioned above is blocked. Ketu is an ascetic, a sadhu, a hermit, he is not interested in the development of art nor creativity. Ketu represents the final liberation – enlightment.
A few months before he committed suicide, Robin entered the Ketu–Saturn period.
Ketu period puts a lot of pressure regarding his depression and addiction, and Saturn came as the last straw that broke the camel.
Together with Ketu and Venus in 11th house is also Arudha which played a major role in his suicide. Arudhas are important because they represent the physical manifestation of houses and planets.
In this particular chart, along with Ketu and Venus is Mrityu pada/Arudha which is a manifestation of the eighth house – death, transformation.
So during the entire period of Ketu this has been activated and this is Arudha which is fatal. In a moment of its activation it brings a physical manifestation of the eighth house – the most disreputable house.
There is way to check whether the person commited suicide;
If there are benefic planets in third house from Arudha Lagna it means that the person might commit sucide. As per benefics provide awareness about the time of death. Robin has Venus in 3rd house from Arudha Lagna so we can conclude that he kind of knew that he was going to die. Also significant is that Venus is his Lagna lord which means that he himself planned it because Venus is his applied intelligence.
Since Venus is under the influence of the Moon and nodes – Rahu and Ketu – in those moments he was obscure minded, distracted (Rahu and Ketu) and overwhelmed by emotions (Moon).
