About me

My name is Maja and I am a former misanthrope, non believer and rebel. I have declared myself an atheist since childhood. I didn’t believe in God in the classical way, and especially not in horoscopes and astrology. Priests, churches, all religious institutions or any form of authority based on intimidation, dogma and blind belief caused me great irritation. Many years later I realized that my atheism was only a reflection of rebellion and anger due to the violent imposition of religion by society and that true freedom in discovering “God”, i.e. the Truth, begins far from church altars, mosques and synagogues.
My first encounter with a different worldview happened in elementary school when a teacher taught a lesson in which he incorporated his own opinion about how wrong Buddhism, Hinduism, and other similar religions were. Considering I’ve always been a misfit, when I got home from school that day, I turned on old computer case by precise kick with big toe, then I connected to the old analog Internet and started researching Eastern religions, which eventually led me to an interest in Eastern culture and traditions from which ten years later, my love for Jyotish emerged.

My hobby is digital drawing ↑

I have always been fascinated by the universe, the planets, the stars, the vastness, the freedom and I’ve always felt awe while looking at the starry sky. If my Mercury wasn’t in Marana Karaka Sthan, I would be an astronaut rather than astrologer. I didn’t get the answers to the questions of who we are, why we are here and what our purpose is through formal education, so from a very young age I was forced to search for the answers by myself. Fortunately, I was born into a interreligious marriage and therefore I wasn’t indoctrinated at birth. No one put the label of Christian or Muslim on me. It was left up to me to discover myself, who am I and “before whose God should I bend my back”.

In one of my spiritual wanderings, I accidentally ended up on a Jyotisha course in 2012. and it is the only spiritual path from which I have not removed myself. Everything else has come and gone but Jyotish has remained and he is the only constant in my life. I conclude that it is true love.

Since one does not become a Jyotishi overnight, the fact that I completed a few courses meant absolutely nothing in the context of practicing Jyotish professionally. Well, if someone who has completed three-month course presents himself to you as a Jyotish astrologer, it may be that you have come across an incarnation of Parashara (the author of the ”Jyotish Bible”) who has all knowledge in his little finger or another, more likely, option; you have encountered an unconscious and unscrupulous person.

Anyway, my first courses were an introduction to Jyotish and more importantly the beginning of getting to know myself through this sacred knowledge. My teacher said that Jyotishis have to burn from within, so that they can shine from the outside. So for the next 10 years I burned in limbo between my job and Jyotish.

I worked in a company and studied Jyotish in my free time. Or maybe it was the other way around: I studied Jyotish, and in my free time I went to work. Be that as it may, I spent the little free time I had maintaining a normal social life in order to fit into the matrix as well as possible. My motto, which is strongly established by experience in spiritual communities, is: “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”.
The biggest lesson I learned from my many years of experience in spiritual communities is that I met the most sincere, pure and spiritual people outside of “spiritual circles”. Oh, the irony!
The second biggest lesson I learned from being in such an environment is that alternative spiritual communities are only an apparent opposition to institutionalized religious communities and that their essence is the same – to be a mediator between God and the individual. But I also realized the benefit of them, because certain people in a certain period of life really need guidance and belonging to such a community. The only problem is that they will never inspire you to the idea of freedom and personal autonomy. Why? Because that’s exactly what they survive on. On your need for them. The spiritual system is a brother of the religious, state (republic) or any other world system arrangement. There is no freedom or truth in organized systems.

My first course was in Split in 2012., which I finished under the guidance of teacher Ignac Peras from Čakovec.
The next step in my studies was the Vedic Academy of Serbia, where I studied from teacher Dalibor Purhmajer.
After that, in 2015., I started learning from the teacher Željko Krgović from Serbia, with whom in 2016. I started a four-year study of the Jaimini Sutra’s from the tradition of one of the best Jyotishis today – Pt. Sanjay Rath.
As I have been through several schools, I can say with certainty that the system of Sanjay Rath and his students (for me personally) is by far the best system, and I can conclude with gratitude and pride that I am learning from the best.

To work as an astrologer requires serious life preparation. However this profession is tarnished and mocked in today’s world, the fact is that people in their difficult life situations seek help from astrologers. Unfortunately, because of various night TV shows hosted by unstable ladies beautified with feathers, grotesque makeup and nails long as eagle claws, because of short horoscopes from the back pages of daily newspapers and tabloids, astrology has been dishonored and reduced to a pseudoscience, but it is in fact a science – about the influence of the stars and planets on human life.

You cannot be a good astrologer without knowledge of psychology, religion, philosophy and sociology. And all learned knowledge without life experience, without humility before nature and the universe, without the knowledge that we are all essentially equal, is, in a way, useless.

Today, after many years of searching for God, I found myself. And I am no longer a member of any religion or any spiritual movement. For me, God is nature, the universe, people and the land I walk on. I bow equally to a saint, an animal and an ordinary man. Gradation does not exist in my world. We all have the same soul, but we do not have the same karma.

Greetings to all readers and lovers of Jyotish.  ❤
